Colleen O'Brien MS, RD, CDN -
I know from years of experience in the fitness industry that staying physically fit is one important aspect of over-all, long-term health; but an equal amount of focus must be put on nutritious eating.
Good nutrition is a key aspect in maintaining weight, feeling good, thinking clearly, athletic performance, growing, recovery, and aging well. With the combination of first hand experience and higher education I am qualified to create nutrition and fitness programs for a wide range of clients.

Over the past 20 years, I have developed a successful private personal training business in New York City, working with all types of clientele from children to CEOs - with a few actors sprinkled in between. I have worked as a personal trainer at the Chelsea Piers Health Club in Manhattan and as a group fitness instructor for Chelsea Piers, Equinox, Crunch, Church Street Boxing and the Wat, teaching MayThai kickboxing, boxing, boot camp, body sculpt, and athletic training courses.
I trained in the martial art of Muay Thai kickboxing for the last 16 years, competed, and was selected for the American Team in 1998 to fight at The Kings Cup International Competition in Bangkok Thailand. My instructors included 7-time Lumpini and World Champion Coban “the Cowboy” Lookchaomaesaitong and European Muay Champion Kru Phil Nurse. I trained at the Fairtex Muay Thai camp in Bangkok and in Lanna Muay Thai in Chang Mai.
With twenty years of experience in the fitness industry as a classroom instructor and a private one-on-one trainer, I understand how to create a specific and comprehensive workout for each individual. I bring my boxing and martial arts background into personal training routines along with functional and core training. Having trained also in Thai massage or so called “lazy man’s yoga” I include extensive stretch and body work to sessions.
